Compass Carers Are you a carer? Do you need support? Join the Martock  Support Group who meet every second Wednesday of the month at the Pavilion from 10.30 to 12 midday.

Somerset Compass carers  Compass carers is a local service that is the dedicated support service for carers across Somerset. It offers information, support and guidance as well as emotional support, training and sign posting. As well as a telephone support service for unpaid carers across Somerset.  If you are caring for a relative, friend or neighbour that could not otherwise manage we are here to support you. A confidential space to meet fellow carers in a relaxed social environment.  With visiting speakers and access to professional advice, support and training.

70 Years of the NHS

We are running a series of drop on workshops for you to share your stories over the last 70 years. Come and discover doctor’s bags, uniforms and images from our historic collections. Workshops are fun, informal and suitable for most ages.

St Margaret’s Support Groups Taunton and Yeovil

 

 

 

St Margaret’s Support Groups is one of your local services and are open to anyone affected by a life-limiting illness – patients, their families and friends

As well as providing an opportunity to meet others in similar situations, our trained volunteers can offer visitors

  • a listening ear
  • provide free information
  • help signpost to other services

The groups are run on a drop-in basis – there is no need to book or to be referred

Keeping elderly neighbours safe

Say Hello to your elderly neighbour and help them to be safe. Avon and Somerset Police offer useful information and top tips on how to help your elderly neighbour keep safe. In addition if you think someone is vulnerable and needs support on keeping safe, your neighbourhood policing team would be more than happy to pop round to speak to any elderly or vulnerable person for some reassurance and advice. To access the help of the neighbourhood policing team, either pop into the Martock Information Centre where one of the volunteers will pass on the details to the local PCSO, pop into your local police station or telephone 101.
